Holding On, Letting Go

Goddess,

I've let situations frustrate me lately.

I know that they aren't holding onto me,
I'm holding onto them;
My frustration does nothing for me but weigh me down.

I'm letting it take away my happiness,
I'm giving it away for nothing.

Goddess,

I'll hold onto you instead;
Help me to let go of the things that weigh me down -
Help me to hold onto the things that lift me up.

Thank You to the Goddess on a Peaceful Night

Walking one night, on a road by a field,

I walk by a young oak tree with wind blowing through its winter-dry leaves.
I stop and look at the stars shining brightly through the moonless sky.
A small, lonely, wispy cloud floats by, silently watching me from above.

It's cold but I am warm, and an unexpected sense of peace, of right, rolls through me.

Just a simple, sudden, unexpected moment in time,
In a clear, cold night,
I found a peaceful moment where I didn't expect to find one.

Sometimes, that's how it goes;
Sometimes, that's all we need.

Just a note to say thank you, Goddess -
Thank you for giving me a moment of your peace
In an otherwise hectic night.

Imbolc Intentions on my Path of the Goddess

Good morning, Goddess,

As Imbolc approaches, I'm reminded
That this is an opportunity for renewal;
A renewal of my path,
A renewal of my intentions on this path.

I intend to learn more about my faith by making time to study.
I intend to embrace more about what I've learned by making time to practice.
I intend to write and journal more often.

I intend on living the life I feel pulled to lead,
I intend on living the life I want to lead.

Goddess, help me as I get back on my path,
And guide me to where I need to be.

To the Goddess on Samhain

Hello Goddess,

I had plans for Samhain to spend a few hours outdoors, reconnecting with Nature.
Nothing fancy or complicated, but I was really looking forward to it;
To finally have some quiet time on a special day before the busy Halloween night began.

Instead it rained all morning and I didn't get out.

So I spent the day with my family -
Having breakfast and lunch with them, carving pumpkins, and preparing costumes;
Trick-or-Treating, sorting the loot, and staying up too late on a school night;
Then watching television with my wife.

I didn't have the day I planned,
But I had a great Samhain just the same -
Spending the day and having fun with my family.

Thank you, Goddess, for a wonderful Samhain with my family,
And for showing me where I needed to be.

Prayer To The Goddess Who Carries Me

Goddess,

There are times when I'm tired and worn out.
There are times when I feel the weight I carry
And it feels like the load just gets heavier.

This is one of those times.

I work to keep my chin up,
To keep pushing along.
I know there's rest ahead but I can't see it yet.

I stop and take a breath.

Goddess, I lean on you again.
I ask for your strength -
To keep me going just a bit longer,
Just a bit further.
Just to the next break.

Goddess, hold me up while I'm weary,
And breathe your strength into me.

To the Goddess on Litha

Goddess,

At different times in my life
I recognize I am where I am
Because you have led me here.

I stop and I find myself realizing something -
I am supposed to be here.

At Litha you asked something of me.
Something that I know is good for me,
But something that is hard for me to do.

I made a promise, a commitment to something.
To let go of something familiar to me.

It's hard letting go of something we've held onto for so long.
Even things that aren't good for us can feel comfortable;
We're used to them.

Once again, I'm led to the people and places I need to meet and see.
I don't always know why I am where I am
But it helps to know I'm supposed to be there.

Thank you, Goddess, for showing me where I need to be and helping me get there;
For showing me something that is holding me back,
And for helping me let it go.

Goddess of Sacred Spaces

Hello Goddess,

As I create my sacred space,
My ritual space,
I feel you working in me,
Working through me,
Guiding my hands.

This is our space, our time.

I try to make it something representative of you,
Of how I see you.

I know it isn't the design that matters,
Other than symbols, shapes, colors,
But what it represents for me.

Making a dedicated space for you,
For my offerings,
For my prayers,
Is what matters.

As all things do,
It will change over time.
It will grow with me.

That's kind of cool.
And I'm looking forward to growing it with you.
